Global Center for Child Neurodevelopment

Supporting early childhood brain development by empowering caregivers

Who We Are

Self-regulation and problem-solving skills do not magically appear in children – they must develop within safe, supportive environments in which parents and caregivers can self-regulate and solve problems themselves.

At GCCN, we support early childhood brain development by empowering all caregivers with the knowledge and skills they need to understand neurodevelopment, regulate themselves, connect and co-regulate with children, and establish safe and predictable environments for children to learn and thrive. By supporting parents, teachers, and other caregivers, we envision a world in which a global next generation possesses the skills and cognitive resources for solving problems–not just everyday problems, but complex problems such as poverty, racism, and climate change.

We believe that adults who can create nurturing environments in which they teach and model composure, conflict management, and cooperative problem-solving, can teach children the values of integrity, fairness, cooperation, respect, and understanding that we are all in this together.

Our Pillars

We know that young children need a safe environment free from adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), adequate health care, good nutrition, and access to learning and stimulation for the best start in life.
