Capacity-Building & Advising

“Effective mentoring relationships are not just about transferring knowledge—they are about fostering resilience, confidence, and the capacity for self-directed growth in protégés.” – Dr. Belle Rose Ragins

Capacity building forms the foundation of all the work carried out by the Global Center for Child Neurodevelopment and its regional offices. Only through mentoring and empowering professionals in each country where the GCCN works can its impact be truly sustainable. We start by engaging in open dialogue with potential partners about the work we do and the positive effect it has on children, caregivers, and the community.

  • We ask questions: Is this valuable to the community?
  • What are the community’s priorities?
  • Will our implementation and delivery methods work here, or are there better alternatives?
  • What outcomes do you most wish to see?

We ensure that the community finds value in the intervention and freely chooses to implement it, as this is the only way to ensure uptake and impact. We forge long-term relationships with partners to implement our intervention and track outcomes.

Through a collaborative strategic plan, we thoughtfully work toward handover of the center to local collaborating partners.
